SAP Program launched at Acropolis Institute
Acropolis Institute, Indore has launched a two week SAP course ‘Demystifying SAP’ for the MBA students on December 17, 2012. The Institute will be the first SAP University Academy in Central India. The program focuses on developing ERP-SAP awareness and imbibing basic concepts of ERP-SAP solutions in contemporary business among the MBA students. The endeavor is started up by the Institute jointly with SAP India looking into the huge need of SAP savvy human resources in industries.
Ms. Ritu Agrawal, Head-Corporate Communications & Administration, ASAP Infotech and the mentor of SAP course for the fortnight said, “One can access data in nano seconds with SAP (Systems Applications and Products). SAP started in 1972 by five former IBM employees is primarily based on tables and structures. It has different verticals and modules which take care of individual functionalities.”
Ms. Ritu Agrawal further added that, in the corporate world, SAP applications provide the capability to manage financial, asset, and cost accounting, production operations and materials, personnel, plants, and archived documents. All the manual labor is remarkably decreased with the usage of SAP.
 In welcome address, Prof. Sumer Singh Yadav, Director, Acropolis Faculty of Management and Research (AFMR) emphasized the indispensability of ERP-SAP solutions in present business. He highlighted that realizing the importance of training the SAP course has been made mandatory for all the students of MBA. He said, “The basic purpose of starting the training is to impart knowledge which will provide both soft and hard skills to the students. The students would be endowed with various benefits and values as a corporate manager. The students must possess a good knowledge of finance, marketing and HR to pursue this 2 week program. This program will equip them with right ideas, skills and knowledge as per the current business scenario.”
On the occasion, Dr. Kamal Bharani, Principal, AITR and a veteran of SAP presented a short curtain raiser on SAP and unfolded various concepts of ERP-SAP among the students. Further in his address he said, “With the type of courses and training we are offering in the Institute, I believe that Acropolians will be able to work above all in any organization and are likely to bring good name to our alma mater. Today, every organization feels the need of informed decisions. A new age manager has to depend on online data. I am sure this training would inculcate all those qualities in students which are must in current corporate world.”
Dr. Prashant Gupta, Director- Faculty of Management, Acropolis Technical Campus (ATC) present during the launch also shared the usage of SAP course in context of Indian Economy. He said, “We need an integrating system for differentiating and cost reduction to achieve the objectives. An ERP system is needed.”
The occasion was also marked by the presence of Prof. MK Dube (CEO, AITR), Dr. MD Agrawal (Director-AITR), Dr. Jayanti Lal Bhandari (Director-AIMSR) and Dr. Mona Nagar (HOD-AIPER). The SAP lab had been established by Prof. Vikas Jain. The program was coordinated by Prof. Juhi Kamakoty. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Juhi Kamakoty.
